While we're in the barn, if you look around, you'll see several hay managers with nice big trays at the bottom, to catch all the good stuff that falls out of the hay. And the uprights do not allow a llama's head to get caught. Here's a sketch if you'd like to try one.  Right beside of where all the mother llamas eat and  hang out is our
"cria feeder"  (plans for feeder)   It's permanent so our young can go in and  out at will until they are 8 months old or longer if they're skinny enough to fit through. It can hold several babies and  has an adjustable entrance to control who goes in.

In our opinion, this is one of the most important things you can do for your babies to produce big healthy juveniles and take some of the stress off your moms who are feeding them for 8-9 months.
